8. Android Application Specifics

Audio Playback and Streaming

The application was created to be a tool for web radio, not a data collection service. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data with anyone. All information and audio files are processed locally on your device and sent solely to the radio server you configure.

Data we process for functionality

  • Audio content: The sound from your microphone and/or audio files you choose are processed locally and sent only to the radio server you configure (Shoutcast® / Icecast®). The app does not keep cloud copies.
  • Connection settings: Server address, port, mountpoint, username, and password may be saved only in the app’s private storage on the device to facilitate future connections. You can delete this data by using the Logout option or clearing the app’s data.
  • Playlist and local files: When choosing tracks through the Android® Storage Access Framework (SAF), the app may create working copies in its private storage to ensure continuous playback/streaming. These copies are removed when you clear the playlist or uninstall the app.

Permissions and purposes

  • Microphone: (RECORD_AUDIO), to capture your voice for broadcasting (for streaming apps only).
  • Media files: (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android® versions), to allow you to select music from local folders (for streaming apps only).
  • Internet: (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE), to connect to your radio server for streaming (for streaming apps only).
  • Foreground Service & Notifications: (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, POST_NOTIFICATIONS), to keep the stream active and show controls (skip, disconnect, etc.).

Sharing with third parties

  • No personal data is sent to third parties, nor are there ads or tracking SDKs. Audio libraries run locally only to process the sound.

Security and transmission

  • Data saved by the app is stored in the application’s private storage.
  • The connection to the radio server is made to the addresses you define. We recommend enabling TLS/SSL on your server when available.

Retention and deletion

  • Settings and playlists remain on the device until you remove them by pressing the “Logout” button, clearing the playlist, or uninstalling the app.
  • We do not keep copies of data or music stored elsewhere.

Children’s Audience

  • The application is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

  • We may update this document to reflect improvements in the app. The current version will be published on this page and within the application.

Contact

  • For questions about privacy, please contact us through one of our user support channels.
